Rawalpindi, December 3, 2024 – Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, has stated that he still possesses a “last card” that he will reveal at an appropriate moment. His sister, Aleema Khan, shared details of a family visit to the imprisoned leader on Tuesday.
After meeting with Khan, who has been largely isolated since his arrest on November 24, Aleema Khan reported that her brother was shocked to learn of the events that occurred during his detention. Khan was reportedly unaware of the developments until a meeting with lawyers and journalists at Adiala Jail on Monday.
Aleema Khan revealed that for around 40-50 hours after his arrest, Khan had been held incommunicado, with both newspapers and Pakistan Television (PTV) access blocked. When informed of the post-arrest events, Khan reportedly responded in disbelief, repeatedly asking, “What are you saying?”
Khan allegedly instructed his family to visit hospitals to check on those injured or killed in the violence following his arrest. However, Aleema Khan explained that such visits posed a risk of arrest. She also stated that Khan had demanded the filing of the first FIR (First Information Report) against Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif.
Drawing a parallel to the killing of Akbar Bugti, Khan said, “What you did with Akbar Bugti, do you think eliminating a person brings peace? Baluchistan has not forgotten that.”
In a significant revelation, Aleema Khan disclosed that her brother claimed to hold a “last card,” stating, “I have a last card that I won’t tell anyone about, and it won’t be revealed. But I have it, and it won’t be used right now. For now, as the system dictates, we will go to the courts.” The nature of this “last card” remains undisclosed.
