Islamabad, September 12, 2024- Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarrar has praised Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage and its strong ties with Pakistan. While addressing at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) during Ethiopian New Year Cultural Night, he highlighted the shared Islamic heritage, agricultural connections, and strategic relations between the two nations. Tarrar expressed optimism that the new Ethiopian Airlines direct flights would enhance bilateral ties in tourism, business, and cultural exchange.
Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain commended the growing trade and direct flight connections and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Ethiopia through the “Engage Africa” vision. Ethiopian Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula emphasized Ethiopia’s role as a strategic partner and showcased its cultural and natural significance. He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support, particularly in launching Ethiopian Airlines’ Karachi operations.
ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari acknowledged the contributions of Ethiopian Airlines and the embassy to the strong bilateral relations, highlighting the event as a celebration of the growing people-to-people ties. The evening featured vibrant cultural performances and the exchange of gifts between officials, symbolizing the deepening friendship between the two countries. The ceremony was attended by diplomats, business leaders, and media representatives.
