Jerusalem, October 22,2024- Israel has admitted that a Hezbollah drone targeted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s residence, specifically aiming at the window of his bedroom. Reports emerged on last Saturday regarding the drone attack on Netanyahu’s personal home by the Lebanese resistance group.
According to Saudi media reports, Hezbollah’s drone targeted Netanyahu’s residence in the Israeli city of Qisariya. Later, the Prime Minister’s Office stated that Netanyahu and his family were not at home during the attack.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli army has granted permission to publish the news. The reports indicated that the drone attack caused damage to Netanyahu’s home in Qisariya, shattering the glass of his bedroom window. However, due to specialized safety glass, the drone could not penetrate inside.
Images released by Israeli media showed the affected part of Netanyahu’s house, with no confirmation of any injuries resulting from the attack.
In a statement following the drone strike, Netanyahu labeled the action an assassination attempt and claimed that Iranian agents had made a grave mistake. He asserted that the attack would not force him to halt his campaign.
Meanwhile, members of the Israeli cabinet expressed their frustration at the army chief over the attempt on Netanyahu’s life. The army chief informed the cabinet that multiple drone attacks had been thwarted, and emphasized that the military is learning from its mistakes and improving its capabilities.
Additionally, Hezbollah’s media office head, Muhammad Afif, took responsibility for the attack during a press briefing in Beirut, stating that Hezbollah targeted Netanyahu’s home in Qisariya, and that Netanyahu was fortunate to be away at the time.
