Islamabad, October 30, 2024 – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to swiftly identify those responsible for the recent attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s vehicle in London. He described the incident as “distressing” and condemned the violence.
Naqvi has instructed NADRA to utilize video footage to track down the assailants and initiate legal proceedings against them, including the filing of FIRs in Pakistan. He emphasized the need to block the attackers’ identification cards and revoke their passports to prevent further actions.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Naqvi stated that those involved would face rapid consequences regarding their citizenship, with the cases being sent to the cabinet for approval. He remarked, “Such attacks cannot be tolerated,” and noted concerns over security for former Chief Justice Isa, who had previously received threats.
The minister’s response reflects a commitment to ensuring accountability and security for individuals facing risks, particularly in light of similar incidents involving Pakistani diplomatic missions abroad.
