Islamabad, September 18, 2024 – Pakistan and Russia have agreed to enhance dialogue and cooperation in key sectors including trade, industry, energy, connectivity, science, technology, and education. This consensus was reached during delegation-level talks between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk in Islamabad today.
The discussions covered the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, with both sides affirming their commitment to continued coordination on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk’s visit is part of efforts to advance the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Vladimir Putin, aimed at transforming the bilateral relationship into a strong and mutually beneficial economic partnership.
