Islamabad, November 7, 2024 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye and emphasized the need to further enhance ties in trade, investment, and defence. He made these remarks during a meeting with newly-appointed Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, at the PM House.
Welcoming Ambassador Neziroglu, who recently presented his credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari on October 28, Prime Minister Sharif expressed eagerness to work closely with him to bolster relations between the two nations, as stated in a press release from the PM Office.
Acknowledging the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, the Prime Minister conveyed gratitude for Türkiye’s consistent support on the Kashmir issue, while pledging Pakistan’s unwavering support for Türkiye’s core interests. The meeting also covered discussions on the regional situation, particularly in Gaza and the Middle East.
Prime Minister Sharif extended warm greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and reiterated his invitation for an official visit to Pakistan. Ambassador Neziroglu expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the strong and historic friendship between the two countries.
