Rawalpindi, December 13, 2024: Security forces have successfully neutralized 43 terrorists in a series of Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan since December 9, delivering a significant blow to terrorist groups including Fitna-Al-Khawarij, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement issued on Friday.
On the night of December 12-13, security forces conducted an IBO in Lakki Marwat District, engaging a terrorist hideout. The operation resulted in the elimination of six Khawarij terrorists. A total of 18 terrorists have been killed in KP since December 9.
Meanwhile, in Balochistan, security forces conducted two intense operations in Musa Khel and Panjgur Districts, successfully neutralizing 10 terrorists on Friday. Over the same period, 25 terrorists have been eliminated in Balochistan.
The ISPR reaffirmed the security forces’ commitment to restoring peace and eradicating terrorism in Pakistan. “These operations will continue until the region is completely rid of the menace of terrorism,” the statement added.
Zardari, Shehbaz laud the security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the efforts of the security forces for their successful operations against Khawarij terrorists.
In separate statements, both leaders commended the forces for eliminating 43 terrorists across various districts, including Panjgur, Musa Khel, and Lakki Marwat, since December 9.
President Zardari hailed the operations as a major victory against terrorism, emphasizing, “The elimination of such a large number of terrorists is a significant achievement of our security forces.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed the sentiment, stating, “The entire nation salutes the bravery of our security forces and stands united with them in their mission to eradicate terrorism.”
Both leaders reiterated their resolve to uproot terrorism and ensure peace and stability in the country.
