Islamabad- September 7, 2024- Türkiye has appointed Irfan Naziroglu as the new ambassador to Islamabad, replacing Dr. Mehmet Paçacı. The newly appointed ambassador is expected to assume his duties in Islamabad by the end of this month. Meanwhile, Dr. Mehmet Paçacı will move to Jeddah by the end of September to take on his new role at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) headquarters. Irfan Naziroglu, the newly appointed ambassador to Pakistan, previously served as the Director General of Support Services at Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.
Diplomatic sources revealed that Dr. Paçacı has already begun farewell meetings and events in Islamabad. He will take on a significant role within the OIC, where he will work on combating Islamophobia. Dr. Mehmet Paçacı is a close associate of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and a prominent Muslim scholar.
