Islamabad, March 7, 2025: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday, reaffirming the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, extending congratulations on the successful convening of the Two Sessions of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-China ties, as demonstrated by President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to Beijing, the Prime Minister thanked China for its unwavering support on Pakistan’s core issues. He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to China’s key concerns and emphasized the deep-rooted resolve of both nations to further strengthen the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Discussions also covered security and counter-terrorism cooperation. The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this year marking the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Pakistan in 2015, directing that the occasion be celebrated appropriately. He also renewed his invitation for President Xi to undertake a state visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.

The Prime Minister stressed the need for both sides to work closely to ensure the timely implementation of projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Ambassador Jiang thanked the Prime Minister for his warm wishes and provided an update on Pakistan-China bilateral cooperation. Praising the government’s economic achievements, he reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in its development efforts.
