Islamabad, March 13, 2025: The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), has distributed food packages to 1,500 underprivileged families across Pakistan in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.
A ceremony was held to mark the distribution in Rawalpindi, Muridke (Punjab), and Oghi (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). The food packages, provided by TİKA, were handed over to PBM for distribution among families in need.
Speaking at the event, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, highlighted the enduring brotherhood between the two nations.
“Today, as we come together for Ramadan, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our brothers and sisters in need. Beyond this initiative, we are also exploring ways to collaborate with PBM to empower women and help them achieve financial independence,” he said.
Dr. Neziroğlu noted that TİKA has completed nearly 700 development projects in Pakistan over the past 15 years, emphasizing its continued dedication to sustainable initiatives.
Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, Director General of PBM, expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s unwavering support.
“Türkiye has always been a pillar of strength for us. This initiative is yet another testament to the deep-rooted friendship and solidarity between our two nations,” he said.
As part of its broader Ramadan initiatives, TİKA is also organizing iftar programs for orphans, students, and other vulnerable segments of society, further strengthening the bond between the people of Türkiye and Pakistan.
