Islamabad, March 19, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for a four-day official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties, boost economic cooperation, and attract investments between the two nations.

During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss strategies for enhancing trade, investment, and economic collaboration. The discussions will also cover regional and global developments, particularly the Gaza crisis, evolving Middle East dynamics, and issues concerning the Muslim Ummah. The Foreign Office stated that the visit underscores the deep-rooted historical ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and will pave the way for enhanced trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation on regional and global matters.

This marks another high-profile visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz since assuming office for the second time. His first official trip to Saudi Arabia took place in April 2024, during which he and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman agreed to fast-track an initial $5 billion Saudi investment package for Pakistan. Later in the same month, the prime minister attended the World Economic Forum’s special meeting on Global Collaboration in Saudi Arabia. In October and December 2024, he participated in the 8th Future Investment Initiative Summit and the Water Summit, respectively.
