New York, April 5, 2025: In a rare bipartisan gesture, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has officially recognized Democrat Agha Muhammad Saleh, a Muslim American politician of Pakistani heritage, for his nonpartisan support and endorsement of President Donald Trump.

A longtime resident of New York and a vocal critic of far-left Democratic policies, Saleh made headlines for leading the “Democrats for Trump” campaign during the 2024 presidential election. His grassroots efforts contributed to a notable 12% increase in votes for President Trump in the traditionally Democratic stronghold of New York — a state that has leaned blue for more than two decades and is widely influenced by progressive figures such as Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and State Attorney General Letitia James.

On March 26, Saleh received a personal membership card signed by President Trump at his residence in New York. The gesture was a formal acknowledgment of his commitment to supporting the “Save America” agenda and the slogan “Never Surrender” as part of Trump’s broader movement to “Make America Great Again.”

In a statement from the RNC Headquarters, Saleh was noted as a nominee for an Official Trump Cabinet Member — a recognition granted to patriotic Americans across party lines who are committed to strengthening America’s grassroots democratic framework. These appointees are expected to support federal reforms, engage with public discussions, and help rally support for President Trump’s executive directives.

A chemical engineer by training and an active member of the Democratic Party, Saleh has lived in New York for over 30 years. He is known for his reformist vision and was a candidate in the 2022 Democratic primary for Governor of New York before endorsing fellow Democrat and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. Despite limited campaign resources, Saleh’s support helped Williams secure a second-place finish.

Saleh is also the founder of “Diversity Plaza,” a celebrated public square in Queens that symbolizes the multicultural essence of New York City. Time Magazine recognized the plaza in its July 2016 issue as the 46th reason to celebrate America on its 240th Independence Day.

As the first Pakistani-American Muslim to serve two terms on New York’s community boards, Saleh has long advocated for term limits — a proposal that ultimately became law. A consistent supporter of President Trump’s policies since 2016, Saleh remains a unique political figure whose cross-party stance continues to gain attention in an increasingly polarized political landscape.
