Islamabad, April 19, 2025 — Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has lauded the success of the Overseas Pakistanis Convention, calling it a powerful testament to the enduring commitment of Pakistanis abroad to the country’s founding ideology and their continued solidarity with the state.

Addressing a formal dinner held in Islamabad in honor of visiting overseas delegates, Governor Kundi praised the enthusiastic participation of Pakistani expatriates from across the globe, describing it as a reflection of their patriotism and deep-rooted connection with their homeland.

The event, hosted by former Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, was organized in collaboration with the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF). It was attended by OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza, Managing Director Afzal Bhatti, and distinguished guests from the diaspora. Set against the backdrop of the scenic Margalla Hills, the evening also brought together notable political, social, and business personalities from the capital.

In his remarks, OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza emphasized that the commitments made during the convention were not merely symbolic. “We have developed a clear and actionable roadmap to ensure timely and effective implementation,” he stated, adding that the convention would now be held annually to continue addressing the needs and challenges of overseas Pakistanis.

Former Mayor of Islamabad Syed Zeeshan Naqvi extended heartfelt thanks to the international delegates for their presence. He noted that their participation had created an atmosphere of hope and unity. Naqvi proposed institutionalizing the convention as an annual event to strengthen ties among overseas Pakistanis and to further their contribution to Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar also spoke at the gathering, underscoring the vital role played by overseas Pakistanis in supporting the country’s economy. “Not only have they rejected anti-state propaganda, but they have also set a new record by sending over $4 billion in monthly remittances — a clear vote of confidence in the current governance structure,” she said.

Participants widely praised the convention as a significant and timely initiative, offering a platform for open dialogue on diaspora-related issues and an opportunity to hear directly from top leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and other senior officials.
