Islamabad, April 24, 2025: In a heartfelt ceremony organized by the CDA Workers Union (CBA) at a local hotel in Islamabad, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, bid farewell to 66 CDA employees selected to perform Hajj this year.

The event was attended by CDA board members, Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home Zamurd Khan, General Secretary of the CDA Workers Union Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, and a large number of CDA staff.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman Randhawa emphasized the spiritual significance of Hajj, stating, “The call to perform Hajj comes from Allah Almighty. Only those whom He chooses can set foot on His sacred land. We are merely facilitators in this blessed journey.”

He urged the pilgrims to remember not only their families but also to offer special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and CDA while fulfilling this religious obligation.

Chairman Randhawa highlighted that, at the request of the CDA Workers Union, 66 employees from Grade 1 to 16 were selected transparently via electronic balloting, in keeping with CDA’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity. He noted that the initiative aims to recognize the hard work and dedication of the Authority’s staff.

“Employees have every right to voice their legitimate concerns, and it is our duty to address them sincerely,” he added. “CDA is committed to employee welfare and believes in career development, empowerment, and collective progress.”

The chairman reaffirmed CDA’s broader mission of transforming Islamabad into one of the world’s most modern and beautiful capitals, noting that such a goal requires consistent dedication and unity. “Greatness lies in honest intention and hard work,” he said, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance the Authority’s governance and service delivery.

Chairman Randhawa also took the opportunity to commend Pakistan Sweet Home for its vital work in supporting orphans and underprivileged children, praising Zamurd Khan’s leadership in this humanitarian cause.

In his remarks, Zamurd Khan lauded the chairman’s services to CDA and appreciated the initiative to increase the number of Hajj pilgrims, calling it a “noble gesture of appreciation for workers’ dedication.”

CDA Workers Union General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen expressed gratitude to the Chairman for increasing this year’s Hajj quota and reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to unity, dialogue, and employee rights. “We stand with CDA’s leadership and the Interior Minister in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of a clean, green, and thriving Islamabad,” he stated.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of Ihram items, essential travel supplies, and farewell gifts to the selected pilgrims by Chairman Randhawa, union leaders, and board members.
