Islamabad, September 18, 2024- A telephonic conversation took place between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the King of the United Kingdom, during which King Charles III extended an invitation to Shehbaz Sharif to participate in the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa next month.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accepted the invitation to attend the summit, which will be the first Commonwealth meeting presided over by King Charles since his ascension to the throne.
During the call, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Commonwealth and its charter. He expressed optimism that the summit in Samoa would foster cooperation among member nations, particularly in areas such as sustainable development, strengthening democratic institutions, and empowering Commonwealth youth.
