Lahore, May 11, 2025: A final decision regarding the resumption of the Pakistan Super League (PSL X) is expected within the next 48 hours, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The remaining eight matches of the tournament are likely to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi, as PSL organizers push forward despite economic and logistical challenges. Officials have affirmed that the completion of PSL X is a top priority and will proceed at all costs.
Sources added that if some franchises face difficulties in securing the return of their foreign players, the tournament will continue with available local talent. Negotiations with foreign players are ongoing, and updates are expected soon.
On Saturday, reports emerged that the PSL management was exploring the possibility of resuming the league to restore the cricketing spirit in the country, especially after Pakistan’s recent victory over India.
Franchise owners have been contacted, and PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer has directed all teams to remain on standby. “Arrangements are underway—I will share complete details shortly. PSL will go ahead,” Naseer reportedly said.
Following the league’s sudden postponement, all foreign players and staff were evacuated to Dubai via Pakistan Armed Forces aircraft. They have now been asked to remain at their current locations until further instructions.
The PSL’s potential resumption is being closely watched by fans and stakeholders, as it represents both a symbolic and practical boost for cricket in Pakistan during a turbulent time.
