Karachi, May 15, 2025: Former Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Quetta Gladiators have made strategic reinforcements to their squad ahead of the business end of PSL 10, signing three overseas players for the remainder of the tournament.
The 2019 title-winners, currently leading the table, have added Sri Lanka’s Avishka Fernando and Dinesh Chandimal, alongside Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib, to strengthen their lineup ahead of the playoffs.
While the franchise has not officially announced the outgoing players, media sources suggest that the trio will replace Australia’s Sean Abbott and New Zealand’s Mark Chapman and Kyle Jamieson.
Jamieson’s unavailability stems from his call-up to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he will represent Punjab Kings. He has reportedly been signed for INR 2 crore as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
The Gladiators recently received a boost with the confirmed availability of Rilee Rossouw and Finn Allen, who were both pivotal in the team’s early-season success.
Currently, Quetta Gladiators top the PSL 10 standings with 13 points from nine matches and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 1.530. They are already guaranteed a Top Two finish, securing them a spot in the Qualifier.
Their final league-stage fixture is set for May 18 against Multan Sultans at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
With the playoffs looming, the Gladiators appear poised for a strong title challenge, backed by a balanced mix of local and international talent.
