Lahore, September 20,2024-The district administration has granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) permission to hold a rally at Ring Road. In compliance with a court order, the Deputy Commissioner’s office issued a permit allowing PTI to hold the rally at Jallo Park instead of Minar-e-Pakistan. According to the permission, PTI is allowed to hold the rally from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Meanwhile, opposition leader of Punjab, Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, along with dozens of Punjab Assembly members, visited the Minar-e-Pakistan rally site, where they found the gates locked, and police present in large numbers preventing PTI leaders from entering.

PTI’s preparations for the Lahore rally have entered the final stages with a convoy led by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to depart from Swabi tomorrow morning. PTI leadership has instructed each candidate to bring 500 supporters to the rally. The convoy from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be led by the Chief Minister, and authorities have decided to bring equipment to remove any obstacles along the way.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif stated that preparations for the rally are complete, and a massive crowd will head toward Lahore from Swabi. He warned the government against attempting to block the public by setting up barriers, calling on Maryam Nawaz to “control her nerves.”

The Lahore High Court had earlier directed the district administration to make a decision regarding PTI’s rally by 5 PM and dismissed the petition. In its written order, Justice Farooq Haider instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore to decide on the matter by 5 PM according to the law. The court ruled that the petition to block the rally was not maintainable, and therefore, it was dismissed.
