Islamabad, May 30, 2025: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the cattle market set up along the Islamabad Expressway in preparation for Eid-ul-Adha, reviewing ongoing arrangements and issuing key directives aimed at improving facilities for both traders and citizens.

During his visit, the Interior Minister instructed authorities to allocate a designated parking area to ease congestion and facilitate access for visitors. He also directed a reasonable reduction in the per-animal fee being charged to traders.

Minister Naqvi inspected the cleanliness and sanitation arrangements on site and assessed the overall management of the cattle market. He interacted with livestock traders who had arrived from across the country, listening to their concerns and suggestions.

Responding to the traders’ appeals, the minister ordered an immediate expansion of the market area and called for improved lighting and uninterrupted water supply to support both animals and visitors, particularly in light of the hot weather conditions. Traders noted that footfall has been low so far, with most buyers opting to visit the market in the evenings due to high daytime temperatures.

The Interior Minister showed particular interest in a white bull on display, praising its beauty. The trader informed him that the animal weighs over 14 maunds (approximately 560 kilograms) and is priced at Rs. 1.8 million.

Minister Naqvi also engaged with citizens present at the market. In response to their request, he ordered the immediate repair of the nearby crossing bridge adjacent to the cattle market to ensure safer and more convenient access for the public.

The visit underscores the federal government’s commitment to ensuring that sacrificial arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha are carried out smoothly, with adequate support for both livestock sellers and buyers.
