Islamabad, September 21,2024-President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday underscored the importance of collective efforts to foster a culture of peace, tolerance, and respect for the dignity of all individuals.

“Together, we can shape a future where our next generations can live in peace and harmony,” he stated in a message marking the International Day of Peace.

He highlighted that this global observance reaffirms the commitment to the principles of peace among nations. “This year’s theme, ‘Cultivating a Culture of Peace,’ urges us to encourage tolerance, coexistence, and peaceful relations among the international community,” he added.

The president noted that geopolitical tensions and conflicts in various regions continue to threaten global peace. He condemned Israel’s actions in Palestine, describing it as a reign of terror and genocide in Gaza.

Similarly, he criticized the Modi government in India, accusing it of committing grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and persecuting Muslims and other minorities within India, depriving them of their fundamental rights.

President Zardari warned that these blatant violations of international law and human rights pose a serious threat to global peace and security.

“We must raise our voices against injustice and oppression. The world’s priority should be addressing humanity’s pressing challenges, such as poverty, hunger, inequality, and violations of basic human rights, rather than fueling disputes and conflicts,” he asserted.

He also emphasized that progress and development are impossible without peace, as wars and conflicts only exacerbate the suffering and hardships faced by people worldwide.
