Rawalpindi, June 2, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again refused to undergo a polygraph test in connection with the May 9 cases, marking the fourth such refusal.

A Lahore police investigation team, led by DSP Asif Javed and comprising Inspectors Muhammad Tasaddaq, Saleem, Naveed, and Punjab Forensic Science Agency’s Abid Ayub, visited Adiala Jail on Monday to conduct the test.

The team had intended to administer a polygraph examination as part of the probe into the violent protests and attacks on state installations that occurred on May 9, 2023. However, Imran Khan declined to participate, as he has in the previous three attempts.

Earlier, police had sought to carry out polygraph, photogrammetric, and voice-matching tests as part of the investigation into multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) registered in Lahore, where the bulk of May 9 violence-related cases are being pursued.

According to police sources, the investigation team had planned to question Imran Khan regarding 11 FIRs linked to incidents during the unrest. With Khan refusing to cooperate, the team left Adiala Jail without conducting any of the scheduled tests.

This continued non-cooperation may impact the course of the investigation, as forensic evidence is considered critical in substantiating or contesting allegations in the May 9 cases.
