Sydney, June 4, 2025: Cricket Australia has announced its World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 Team of the Tournament, with Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali earning a well-deserved place among the elite performers of the cycle.

Noman’s inclusion is a testament to his consistent brilliance over the two-year campaign, edging out high-profile names such as Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc. Despite limited opportunities, his impact was unmatched.

The WTC 2023–25 cycle was marked by thrilling encounters, packed stadiums, and unforgettable individual performances. From England’s dramatic comeback to draw the 2023 Ashes 2-2, to Australia’s commanding 3-1 series win over India that secured their place in the WTC final, the competition showcased the best of Test cricket.

Pakistan, too, made headlines with a memorable 2-1 series victory against England, bouncing back after a heavy defeat in the opening Test. Noman Ali played a pivotal role in that turnaround, establishing himself as one of the standout bowlers of the tournament.

Although he featured in only six Tests during the cycle, Noman’s numbers were extraordinary. He claimed 46 wickets at an average of 14.76 and a strike rate of 27.6, outperforming all bowlers who delivered more than 100 overs in the cycle.

His most memorable performance came in Multan, where he demolished England with figures of 8 for 46 in the second innings—the best bowling figures recorded in the entire WTC 2023–25 cycle. He finished that series with 19 wickets across the final two Tests, leading Pakistan to a historic win alongside fellow spinner Sajid Khan.

Noman’s dominance wasn’t limited to that series. He began the cycle with a 7 for 70 against Sri Lanka in Galle and capped it off with a 6 for 41 against the West Indies in January 2025, cementing his reputation as a genuine match-winner.
