United Nations, June 20, 2025: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, strongly condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran, calling on the UN Security Council to play its role in halting hostilities and restoring peace in the region.

Speaking at a Security Council session convened to discuss the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, Ambassador Iftikhar stated, “Pakistan unequivocally condemns Israeli aggression and illegal actions against Iran.” He emphasized that Pakistan desires a peaceful resolution to the Iran-Israel dispute and urged all parties to give diplomacy another chance.

“Pakistan stands firmly with its Iranian brothers in the face of Israeli aggression. The irresponsible actions of Israel are threatening regional peace and violating Iran’s sovereignty,” the ambassador said.

He called on the Security Council to condemn Israel’s attack on Iran, support an immediate ceasefire, and act decisively to de-escalate the situation. “The Security Council must fulfill its responsibility and give peace a chance,” he stressed.

Echoing Pakistan’s call for peace, China’s envoy to the UN also urged an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Iran. The Chinese representative welcomed ongoing diplomatic efforts in Geneva between Iran and European countries, describing them as a positive step toward defusing tensions.

The session highlighted growing international concern over the widening conflict, with several nations urging restraint and renewed commitment to diplomacy.
