Dubai, June 25, 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday released the latest Test player rankings, with England’s Joe Root maintaining his position at the top of the batting charts, thanks to his continued run of consistent performances.
Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel dropped two spots to 10th, placing him on the brink of exiting the elite group of top 10 Test batters. Despite the dip, he remains Pakistan’s only batter in the top 10. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan held on to his 16th position in the rankings.
Harry Brook of England climbed to second, marking his rapid rise as one of the most formidable Test batters in world cricket while India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal moved up to fourth, further establishing his growing influence in the format.
India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant’s twin century at Headingley against England earned him a move up to seventh place.
Ben Duckett made a notable jump, gaining five places to reach eighth, following his crucial role in England’s recent Test win.
In the bowling department, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali continued to impress, retaining his fourth-place ranking, and remaining the only Pakistani in the top 10 bowlers.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowling rankings, followed by South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Pat Cummins. India’s Ravindra Jadeja slipped three places to 13th, following a subdued performance at Headingley.
Nauman Ali is placed 19th in the all-rounders’ rankings, representing Pakistan in this category as well while Ravindra Jadeja continues to top the all-rounders’ list, despite his dip in bowling rankings. England captain Ben Stokes climbed three places to fifth, reflecting his impactful contributions with both bat and ball.
