Islamabad, June 25, 2025: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a clarification regarding circulating social media videos related to a slip road near the newly constructed Jinnah Square Interchange.

In its official statement, the CDA affirmed that all main structures of the interchange, including its loops and roadways, remain fully intact, structurally sound, and operational.

The Authority explained that a minor portion of an isolated slip road experienced surface issues due to water percolation near Sui gas trenches, which were dug for road crossings in the area. This minor defect emerged following today’s heavy rainfall.

CDA assured the public that the issue was immediately rectified by the contractor using concrete, and at no cost to the government. The repair falls within the contractor’s mandatory two-year defect liability period, under which all structural and quality standards are to be upheld and promptly maintained.

The CDA urged citizens not to be misled by misrepresentations on social media, emphasizing that the overall infrastructure remains safe, and the authority continues to monitor and maintain the site proactively.
