Islamabad, July 2, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and its pivotal role in facilitating the ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India.
The remarks came during a meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malkiy, in Islamabad. The prime minister also fondly recalled his warm and cordial telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on June 24, during which the two leaders discussed the regional situation in detail.
Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his sincere regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Highlighting Pakistan’s assumption of the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of July, the prime minister expressed hope for Saudi Arabia’s continued support to ensure a smooth and productive tenure.
In response, Ambassador Al Malkiy thanked the prime minister and acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
