ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025: Fatima Sana to lead Pakistan

Lahore, August 25, 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, with all-rounder Fatima Sana named captain. This will be her first time leading the national side in a World Cup.

The tournament will run from September 30 to November 2, with Pakistan playing all their group matches at Colombo’s R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Uncapped batter Eyman Fatima, who made her T20I debut earlier this year against Ireland, has earned a spot in the ODI squad. Six players, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Syeda Aroob Shah, are set for their maiden World Cup appearance.

Ahead of the mega event, Pakistan will face South Africa in a three-match ODI series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from September 16–22. A 14-day training camp for the squad and reserves will begin on August 29 under head coach Muhammad Wasim.

Squad changes include Eyman Fatima and Sadaf Shamas replacing Gull Feroza and Najiha Alvi, who move to the five-member reserve pool alongside Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.

South Africa’s women’s team arrives in Lahore on September 12 for the preparatory series.

Pakistan Women’s Squad: Fatima Sana (captain), Muneeba Ali Siddiqui (vice-captain), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Eyman Fatima, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Omaima Sohail, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz (wk), Syeda Aroob Shah.

  • Sept 16 – 1st ODI
  • Sept 19 – 2nd ODI
  • Sept 22 – 3rd ODI

Pakistan’s World Cup Fixtures (Colombo):

  • Oct 2 – vs Bangladesh
  • Oct 5 – vs India
  • Oct 8 – vs Australia
  • Oct 15 – vs England
  • Oct 18 – vs New Zealand
  • Oct 21 – vs South Africa
  • Oct 24 – vs Sri Lanka
