Rawalpindi, September 4, 2025: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Chief of Qatar Armed Forces, Lt Gen (Pilot) Jassim Mohammad Ahmed Al-Mannal, during his official visit to Doha, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit is part of the second round of the Higher Military Cooperation Committee (HMCC) meeting between Pakistan and Qatar.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed the evolving regional security environment and reaffirmed their commitment to peace and stability at regional and global levels. General Mirza highlighted the historic brotherly ties between the two nations and underscored the scope for expanded cooperation in defence and security under the HMCC framework.
Qatari civil and military leadership appreciated Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional stability and lauded the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, the CJCSC was presented a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Qatari military.
