Beijing, September 4, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday praised China’s steadfast support for Pakistan, saying Beijing has always stood by Islamabad during times of crisis.
Speaking at the China-Pakistan Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference in Beijing, the prime minister said China had played a “central role” in guiding Pakistan’s economy toward recovery. He credited the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with revitalising agriculture and enabling key infrastructure projects.
“China’s cooperation made possible the construction of dams and the completion of the Orange Line project,” Shehbaz said, adding that “all promises made with Pakistan by President Xi Jinping have been fulfilled.”
Highlighting the depth of bilateral ties, he described Pakistan-China friendship as “deeper than the sea, stronger than iron, and sweeter than honey.”
The premier stressed that the transfer of Chinese industries to Pakistan would create new opportunities, supported by affordable labour and enabling facilities, and reiterated that Pakistan was a “second home” for Chinese partners.
On security, Shehbaz assured that the protection of Chinese nationals in Pakistan remained a top priority. “There will be no compromise on the safety of our Chinese brothers and sisters,” he said.
