Islamabad, September 16, 2025: Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has pledged $230,000 to support children affected by recent floods in Pakistan, with a focus on restoring access to education.
In a video message, Malala announced that $200,000 would be provided as a grant to Idara-e-Taaleem-o-Agahi, while another $30,000 would go to the Mountain Institute for Education and Development (MIED).
The funds will be used to supply books, uniforms, and essential school materials to children whose education has been disrupted by the floods.
“Schools across Pakistan have been destroyed, leaving thousands of children without proper learning facilities,” Malala said. “My heart is with all Pakistanis in this time of crisis.”
She emphasized that education must remain a priority even amid devastation, urging that children be given the tools they need to return to classrooms and continue learning.
The catastrophic monsoon flooding has destroyed schools and displaced millions, adding to the challenges of a country already vulnerable to climate change.
