Dubai, September 20, 2025: With the much-anticipated Pakistan–India Asia Cup Super Fours clash set for Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has engaged a sports psychologist and motivational speaker to help players cope with the immense pressure surrounding one of world cricket’s most intense rivalries.

According to team sources, Dr. Raheel has been tasked with guiding players on stress management and mental resilience. His sessions are designed to help cricketers stay composed, focused, and positive under pressure, while also teaching them techniques to channel anxiety into performance.

The Pakistan–India rivalry, considered among the most emotionally charged contests in international cricket, often subjects players to extraordinary scrutiny and expectations. The PCB move is aimed at ensuring the squad enters the fixture in the best possible mental shape.

In the build-up to the clash, the national team also held a frank internal meeting where players openly discussed shortcomings from previous matches. According to sources, Pakistan’s batters admitted responsibility for failing to rotate the strike effectively, which increased pressure in difficult conditions. Each player was given the opportunity to share feedback, making the session a platform for self-assessment.

Bowlers, meanwhile, highlighted the challenging batting conditions they had observed, noting that they contributed to the team’s struggles. Head coach Mike Hesson expressed full confidence in the squad, urging players to remain focused and assuring them of his trust. He emphasized that Pakistan has the talent to bounce back strongly in the tournament.

On the other side, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav exuded confidence during a pre-match press conference in Dubai on Saturday. He said India, having won three matches in the tournament so far, is determined to carry forward the momentum.

“Our preparation has been very good. The focus is on what we can do well, and we will try to win the match,” Yadav said, adding that the team is eager to deliver both performance and entertainment for fans.

Sunday’s clash will mark the opening Super Fours match for both arch-rivals, with the stakes running high both on and off the field.
