Mumbai, September 6, 2026: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has taken on a new challenge away from cricket, returning to television hosting after nearly a decade as the host of the third season of popular reality show Bigg Boss Bangla.
Ganguly has been appointed to host the Bengali version of the reality show, which officially began airing on August 30 on Star Jalsha and JioHotstar.
Speaking about his new role, the former India captain described Bigg Boss as the biggest show in the country, saying its widespread popularity and presence across multiple languages have given it a unique position among television programmes.
The assignment also marks Ganguly’s first association with Endemol Shine India and his return to television hosting after nearly 10 years.
Ganguly said he had appeared on and hosted several television programmes in the past, but hosting Bigg Boss was an entirely new experience for him.
The return of Bigg Boss Bangla is also significant as the show has made a comeback after a gap of nearly a decade.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Salman Khan continues to host the Hindi version of Bigg Boss, with its 20th season set to premiere on September 6.
