Ishaq Dar holds series of calls with regional counterparts on Gaza crisis

Islamabad, October 11, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with his counterparts from Iran, Egypt, and Azerbaijan to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza and the wider Middle East, the Foreign Office said on Saturday.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Dar spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister ]with both sides exchanging views on the evolving situation in Gaza and Palestine. The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to joint efforts for peace, stability, and unity among Muslim countries.

Earlier, Dar also held talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, focusing on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. The discussion included coordination ahead of the upcoming Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, scheduled for Monday, where regional leaders are expected to deliberate on the conflict.

In another conversation, the deputy prime minister spoke with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, with both leaders emphasizing the need for continued Arab-Islamic cooperation to promote peace and address the humanitarian suffering in Gaza.

Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, calling for an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, and renewed international efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
