Lahore, October 11, 2025: The glittering trophy for the upcoming two-match Test series between Pakistan and South Africa was unveiled in a ceremony at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, marking the official launch of the much-anticipated contest.
Pakistan captain Shan Masood and his South African counterpart Aiden Markram jointly unveiled the elegant silverware before posing for an official photo shoot with the trophy.
The two skippers later visited the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Museum at the National Cricket Academy, where they viewed Pakistan’s historic cricket achievements, including the 1992 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, 2009 T20 World Cup, and 2017 ICC Champions Trophy trophies.
The first Test between the two sides will be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from October 12 to 16, followed by the second match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24.
The series marks South Africa’s first Test tour of Pakistan since January 2021, when the visitors were defeated 2–0.
Following the Tests, the tour will continue with a three-match T20 International (T20I) series from October 28 to November 1 — the first game in Rawalpindi and the remaining two in Lahore — before concluding with a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series in Faisalabad from November 4 to 8.
Historically, Pakistan and South Africa have met 30 times in Test cricket, with Pakistan winning six, South Africa 17, and seven matches ending in draws.
