Babar Azam rises to sixth in latest ICC ODI batting rankings

Dubai, July 22, 2026: Pakistan’s premier batter Babar Azam climbed one place to sixth in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings, while several other Pakistan players also registered gains following the recent update.

Babar now has 689 rating points, moving up from seventh place. Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha also improved his standing, climbing two places from 18th to 16th with 630 rating points.

Former captain and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan retained his 31st position with 560 points, while left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman slipped one place to 37th with 544 points. Young opener Saim Ayub remained unchanged in 44th place.

New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell continued to lead the ICC ODI batting rankings with 802 rating points, followed by India’s Shubman Gill in second and Virat Kohli in third.

In the ODI bowlers’ rankings, Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi moved up two places from ninth to seventh with 604 rating points. Speedster Haris Rauf also climbed two positions to 20th with 556 points.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah dropped two places to 49th with 477 points, while Mohammad Wasim Jr improved one spot to 70th with 432 points. Spinner Mohammad Nawaz retained his 80th position with 407 points.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continued to occupy the top spot in the ODI bowling rankings, while Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed remained second. England pacer Jofra Archer climbed to third, replacing South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in the top three.

The latest rankings reflect recent international performances, with Pakistan’s leading players maintaining a strong presence in both the batting and bowling charts ahead of upcoming ODI assignments.
