Rawalpindi, October 20, 2025: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in connection with cases related to the party’s November 26, 2024, protest.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah ordered police to arrest and produce Aleema before the court on October 22, citing her continued absence from the proceedings.

The development came after Aleema and nine others were indicted in a case registered at Sadiqabad Police Station over PTI’s protest last year, which was organized to press the government for Imran Khan’s release from jail.

Those indicted alongside Aleema include Sajid Qureshi, Atif Riaz, Faheem Razaq, Adalat Khan Qureshi, Mursalin Kiani, Tayyab Abbas Shah, Umar Shah Muhammad Hanif, and Ali Raza.

During Monday’s hearing, 10 other accused named in the same case appeared before the court, while five prosecution witnesses recorded their statements.

The court also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema’s guarantor, Umer Sharif, and directed the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner to verify the property documents submitted as surety.

The November 26 protest, which lasted three days, was part of PTI’s campaign to demand Imran Khan’s release. The former prime minister and 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician has been incarcerated since August 2023 and faces multiple cases ranging from corruption to terrorism following his ouster through a no-confidence motion in April 2022.

The demonstrations ended abruptly after violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement agencies, which left three Rangers personnel and one policeman martyred.
