Lakki Marwat, October 24, 2025: Pakistan’s security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday, killing eight militants and injuring six others, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to the ISPR, the operation was launched following credible intelligence reports as part of ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism and restore lasting peace in the province.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a persistent wave of terrorist attacks, prompting a series of targeted operations against elements described by the state as Fitna al-Khawarij — a term used for militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Earlier this month, on October 13–14, an IBO in Spinwam, North Waziristan, resulted in the elimination of 18 terrorists after an intense exchange of fire. On September 27, security forces killed 17 militants of Fitna al-Khawarij in Lakki Marwat, while another four terrorists linked to Fitna al-Hindustan were neutralized in Mastung on September 12.

The ISPR reaffirmed that operations under the National Action Plan will continue until the complete elimination of terrorism and full restoration of peace and order in the country. A search operation is currently underway in Lakki Marwat amid reports of possible militant hideouts in the area.
