Lahore, November 1, 2025: Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first against South Africa in the third and final T20 International (T20I) of the three-match series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

With both sides having registered one win apiece, the series decider promises a thrilling contest. The overall head-to-head record between the two teams remains evenly poised, with 13 victories each in their previous 27 encounters.

The series has so far seen dominant performances from both sides. In the opening match in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, South Africa outclassed Pakistan by 55 runs, defending a 195-run target after bowling out the hosts for 139.

However, Pakistan bounced back strongly in the second T20I, producing a commanding performance to level the series. The home side dismissed the Proteas for a paltry 110 runs in 19.2 overs and chased down the target with 41 balls to spare, losing only one wicket.

The two teams last met in a bilateral T20I series in December 2024, when South Africa, playing at home, secured a 2-0 victory, with the third fixture washed out due to rain.

As both teams enter the final match with momentum on their side, tonight’s clash will decide not just the series but also the edge in their long-standing T20 rivalry.
