Islamabad, November 7, 2025: Pakistan received $3.4 billion in workers’ remittances during October 2025, reflecting a 12% year-on-year increase and a 7% rise month-on-month, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday.

The central bank said that cumulative inflows during July–October FY26 reached $13 billion, compared to $11.9 billion in the same period last fiscal year — an overall growth of 9.3%.

The SBP reported that the bulk of October remittances came from:

  • Saudi Arabia: $820.9 million
  • United Arab Emirates: $697.7 million
  • United Kingdom: $487.7 million
  • United States: $290 million

Remittances from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and other regions also showed steady contributions, reflecting continued support from Pakistan’s diaspora amid improving exchange rate stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the rise in remittances, saying it underscored the trust of overseas Pakistanis in the government’s economic policies.

“Overseas Pakistanis are our invaluable assets, serving the nation by sending their hard-earned money,” the premier said in a statement issued on Friday.

He expressed optimism that the upward trend would continue in the coming months, helping to stabilise Pakistan’s external account and strengthen foreign exchange reserves.
