Rawalpindi, November 22, 2025: Sahibzada Farhan’s unbeaten half-century, combined with Mohammad Nawaz’s three-wicket haul, guided Pakistan to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the third T20I of the tri-series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The win, Pakistan’s second in the ongoing series, lifted them to the top of the standings with four points from two matches, while Sri Lanka dropped to the bottom after consecutive defeats. Chasing a modest 129-run target, the home side reached the mark comfortably, losing just three wickets with 27 balls to spare.

Farhan was the star with an unbeaten 80 off 45 balls, including five sixes and six fours. He received support from opener Saim Ayub and star batter Babar Azam, who contributed 20 and 16 runs respectively.

For Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera picked up two wickets, while captain Dasun Shanaka managed one. Shanaka’s decision to bat first backfired as his team could only post 128/7 in 20 overs, despite a valiant innings from Janith Liyanage.

The visitors got off to a promising start with opener Kamil Mishara hitting two sixes and two fours in a quick 22 off 12 balls, before Faheem Ashraf dismissed him in the fourth over. Kusal Mendis fell run out for three soon after, reducing Sri Lanka to 38/2 in 5.4 overs.

A cautious 22-run partnership between Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka ended with Perera’s dismissal in the first ball of the ninth over, triggering a middle-order collapse. Mohammad Nawaz exploited the situation, taking three wickets for 16 runs in four overs, including two in the same over, as Sri Lanka slumped to 86/6 in 13.3 overs.

Janith Liyanage held the innings together, forming a 35-run stand for the seventh wicket with Wanindu Hasaranga before the latter fell in the penultimate over. Liyanage finished unbeaten on 40 off 37 balls, featuring three fours and a six, as Sri Lanka’s innings folded for 128.

Other notable contributors for Pakistan’s bowling were Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, and Salman Mirza, who each claimed one wicket.
