Islamabad, November 26,2025: The Pakistan–Saudi Arabia joint military exercise Al-Battar II concluded in Tabuk on Tuesday, wrapping up more than a week of intensive counterterrorism training conducted from November 18 to 26.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the drills brought together Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Saudi military units for advanced training aimed at enhancing interoperability and boosting operational readiness. The closing ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding SSG as Pakistan’s chief guest, along with senior officials of the Saudi armed forces.

Troops from both sides showcased high-level proficiency in counterterrorism manoeuvres, with the exercise focusing on urban combat, improvised explosive device (IED) neutralisation, and coordinated tactical procedures to strengthen joint response capabilities.

ISPR said the exercise not only improved the forces’ capacity to carry out complex operations but also further solidified the longstanding defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. All training objectives were successfully achieved, reaffirming the two countries’ shared commitment to regional security, stability and joint preparedness, it added.
