Ranchi, November 30, 2025: India’s senior batter Rohit Sharma etched his name in cricketing history on Sunday, becoming the player with the most sixes in men’s One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

The 38-year-old achieved the milestone during the first ODI of the three-match home series against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

Rohit entered the match with 349 ODI sixes and needed three more to surpass Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who struck 351 sixes in 398 matches. With three towering hits during his brisk half-century, Rohit took his tally to 352 sixes in just 269 innings—one ahead of Afridi, who required 369 innings to reach his total.
