Islamabad, December 3, 2025: Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for a two-day maiden state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the visiting leader at the airport. A 21-gun salute was presented in his honour, while children dressed in traditional attire welcomed him with bouquets.

President Zhaparov is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior cabinet ministers, top government officials, and prominent business leaders. During his stay, he is expected to address the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum to highlight trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

Officials said the two sides will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discuss new avenues for cooperation in trade, energy, defence, education, people-to-people exchanges, and regional connectivity.

The visit marks the first presidential-level trip from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan in nearly two decades—the last such visit took place in January 2005.

According to the Foreign Office, President Zhaparov’s visit underscores the brotherly relations between Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, founded on shared history, cultural links, and a mutual commitment to promoting peace and prosperity in Central and South Asia.
