Islamabad, December 7,2025: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will undertake an official visit to Pakistan from December 8 to 9, the Foreign Office (FO) announced on Sunday. The two sides are set to discuss a broad agenda aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The FO said President Prabowo will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising key ministers and senior officials. The visit is taking place on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“This will be President Prabowo’s first visit to Pakistan. The last presidential visit from Indonesia was undertaken by President Joko Widodo in 2018,” the FO noted. The trip also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, adding special significance to the engagement.

During his two-day stay, President Prabowo will hold delegation-level talks with PM Shehbaz. He is also scheduled to call on President Asif Ali Zardari and meet Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

According to the FO, discussions will centre on enhancing cooperation across a wide range of sectors including trade, investment, defence, health, information technology, climate, education, and culture. The two sides will also explore ways to bolster collaboration at regional and global forums.

“Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit,” the statement added.

The FO said Pakistan and Indonesia enjoy “close, cordial and long-standing relations, underpinned by shared values and mutual interests.”

It added that President Prabowo’s visit will provide “an important opportunity to deepen bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation,” helping to drive further growth and diversification in the partnership between the two countries.
