Islamabad, October 23,2024- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the international community has not played an effective role in the ceasefire. Innocent Palestinians are being subjected to genocide by Israel, and the world is a silent spectator to Israeli brutality.

Speaking at a ceremony held in honour of Palestinian students studying in Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed them, saying, “We welcome you with open hearts. You are not guests but our brothers; Pakistan is as much your home as it is mine.”

The Prime Minister further stated that cities and villages in Palestine are presenting scenes of devastation, while the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the International Court of Justice seem helpless.

He also said that Israel has thrown the UN resolutions and the recommendations of the international community into the trash. The global community has failed to play an effective role in the ceasefire, and Israel has martyred over 43,000 Palestinians through cruelty and barbarism.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the people of Pakistan stand with their Palestinian and Lebanese brothers in this difficult time.

He further said that more students from Gaza should be invited to study and live in Pakistan, where they can receive quality education in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Islamabad.

The prime minister assured the Palestinian students that they would be provided with quality education free of cost. He also commended various Non-Governmental Organizations like the Al-Khidmat Foundation for helping the war-affected students from Palestine.

The Palestinian students also thanked the prime minister and the people of Pakistan for their generosity.
