The Privatisation Commission and the Ministry of Privatisation gave a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing and planned privatisation initiatives, outlining procedural steps, policy frameworks, and key recommendations.

The committee extensively reviewed the entire process undertaken by the Privatisation Commission and carefully examined its recommendations. Stressing the importance of transparency and accountability, the committee underscored the need for strict adherence to government policies, applicable laws, and prescribed procedures, while also employing best international practices in the privatisation process.

He further emphasized the importance of providing a level playing field to all participants and encouraging fair competition throughout the process to safeguard national interests.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers for Finance, Power, and Commerce, along with Advisers to the Prime Minister on Privatisation and on Industry and Production, and Special Assistants to the Prime Minister on Finance and Tariq Bajwa.
