National Assembly secretariat denies reports of PTI delegation meeting with Speaker

Islamabad, January 8, 2026: The National Assembly Secretariat on Thursday categorically denied reports suggesting that a delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was scheduled to meet Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

In an official clarification, the Spokesperson of the National Assembly Secretariat stated that no such meeting was planned for Thursday, January 8, 2026. The Spokesperson further clarified that the Speaker National Assembly is not present in Islamabad.

The Secretariat urged members of the media to verify any news attributed to the Speaker National Assembly directly with the National Assembly Secretariat prior to broadcasting or publication, in order to avoid the dissemination of inaccurate information.

The Spokesperson added that officials of the National Assembly Secretariat remain available at all times to provide verified details regarding the engagements and official schedule of the Speaker National Assembly.
