Dar chairs inter-ministerial meeting to review Pakistan–Indonesia health cooperation

Islamabad, January 16, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday chaired an inter-ministerial meeting to review progress on Pakistan–Indonesia cooperation in the health sector, following the visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Pakistan on December 8–9, 2025.

The meeting assessed developments in bilateral health collaboration and explored new opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. Emphasizing the strategic importance of Indonesia, the DPM/FM underscored the need to deepen and broaden Pakistan’s relations with Jakarta, particularly in priority sectors such as health.

Participants discussed avenues for enhanced engagement, institutional coordination, and practical initiatives aimed at mutual benefit in healthcare and human resource development.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Minister for Health, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHSR&C), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD).
