Lahore, January 20, 2026: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday, reflecting on a decade of memorable moments and lasting friendships in the league.

“I cherish every single moment and friendship I have made on and off the field throughout my 10 years of the Pakistan Super League as a player. It’s time to call it a day,” Malik wrote in an Instagram post. He added that his passion and motivation to contribute to cricket’s growth will always remain.

During his PSL career, Malik represented Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators, playing a total of 93 matches. He scored 2,350 runs at an average of 33.09, with a strike rate of 127.78, including 15 half-centuries.

Malik’s retirement comes as the PSL enters a new era with the addition of two new teams, Hyderabad and Sialkot, following a star-studded player auction earlier this month. The highly anticipated 11th edition of the PSL is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, with Lahore Qalandars set to defend their title.
