Davos, January 22, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday held a sideline meeting with Thailand’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, on the margins of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos.
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers reviewed the state of Pakistan–Thailand bilateral relations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including economic cooperation, trade, investment and agriculture. Both sides expressed confidence that enhanced engagement in these areas would contribute to stronger and more diversified ties between the two countries.
The discussion also covered regional and international developments of mutual interest, with an emphasis on maintaining dialogue and cooperation in an evolving global landscape.
Both ministers took the opportunity to congratulate each other on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Thailand, underscoring the longstanding friendship and mutual respect that have defined ties between the two nations for over seven decades.
